Children of Earth: Day Two
I'm all wet. I've been out skipping in the rain. Seriously.
1. My dad totally ruined the NAKED JACK scene. He TOLD ME, and then I figured out exactly where it would be based on what I'd already read in James Moran's blog. Bah. Nonetheless, I LOL'd. I ♥ Captain Jack.
2. So I've been thinking - I'm totally watching this as a writer now, rather than just as a viewer. It's odd, because I can kind of see the thought patterns behind the plot choices. Like, I'm deconstructing everything in my head as I watch, but I'm also trying very hard not to, because I don't want to figure out the ending too soon. I mean, I know I'm supposed to do that because, like, it's what I do. But it's still weird.
3. Clem perplexed me in this episode. He was just sort of repeating what we'd already seen of him, I suppose to make sure that we didn't forget that he existed, but his storyline didn't seem to go anywhere. I mean, I understand WHY - because it'd give too much away, but still, I want to see something new. Hopefully tonight.
4. I adore Ianto so much that it hurts. And Gwen. And Rhys - He especially has really grown on me since season one.
5. Lois is brilliant. I fear for her, though. Gwen's offer of a job makes me think she's likely to die. I mean, I guess she could join Torchwood, but it would totally buck the trend if she did. Russell T Davis tends to set things up so that the characters who 'could be in the team' get killed off in a some kind of heroic moment.
